Fishing options: (these two big boats can fish all of Nantucket's fisheries superbly)
Inshore rips, shorelines, and out to several miles for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonita, False albacore, Black Sea Bass, and Scup
Offshore for Tuna and Shark
Both boats can carry up to 6 anglers comfortably with up to 4 rods fishing at once. The wide beam and open deck area offer great fishing space. We use both fly and spinning gear on board and can easily use both at the same time if your group has mixed fishing preferences. They offer great platforms for any groups the hard-core fishers, first timers, or families with small children. You have to step aboard to appreciate just how seaworthy these boats are.
Their Unique Story
Both Priscilla J. and Purple Water are custom made, thirty foot Crosby Hawks. They are both unique and very impressive, providing the best light tackle fishing platform we've ever seen. The minute you step aboard, you will feel the security of an 8 ton boat and enjoy the space allowed by their 12 ft beam, and our open design allows for 4 anglers to fish at once casting without constraints. Their unique stability and shallow draft allow us to fish comfortably where others cannot. Our big boats are ideal for fishing the entire range of Nantucket's world class waters - ok, except the flats: see our flats boat "Roccus".
Capt. Tom had the Priscilla J. built in 1980. After fishing Nantucket's West end for 10 years, he knew exactly what was needed. Though many of the vessel's strengths are noticed mainly by the captain, anglers always enjoy the stability and open space these boats offer. Their stability combined with a shallow draft allows us to fish waters well out of reach of other boats. Capt. Tom acquired Purple Water in the mid 90s and spent an off-season working on the topside to fit the needs of our waters and our anglers. We are very happy to have 2 of only 6 of these hulls ever built.
What to Bring
You are more than welcome to bring any fishing equipment you like, but all of our boats carry top of the line equipment for both fly and spin fishers.
Additional things to bring that may improve your experience include:
Sunglasses (polarized lenses if possible)
Non-marking shoes - if possible. No worries if not.
Jacket (We provide heavy foul weather gear, but your own may be more comfortable. Always bring extra layers for any trip on the water.)
Snacks - be careful leaving any food near Captain Jason.

His emphasis on your enjoyment and light tackle fishing created a loyal following that continues to grow. This success allows us to run 4 boats specifically designed for fishing around Nantucket. This is only possible thanks to an amazing crew that combine over a century of fishing on Nantucket and the same great enthusiasm for fishing and people that attract people to Tom himself. Whether you've mastered the sport, want to try it for the first time, or simply love the water and great company, we hope you make us part of your Nantucket experience.
