New Orleans, Louisiana Redfish Fly Fishing | November – March
Experience the Louisiana marsh with Louisiana fly fishing guide Capt. Jeremy Chavez. Land of the Giants, the Louisiana marsh’s aptly coined moniker, is known for its expansive marshes that boast some of the world’s largest redfish and black drum. The fall and winter months are the best time of year to target trophy size fish. Shots at fish in the 20-30lb range are common with possibilities of fish pushing into the 40-60lb class. The Louisiana marsh is a short drive from fine cuisine and vibrant nightlife of downtown New Orleans, Louisiana. All things considered, the Louisiana marsh is unquestionably the best redfish fishery on the planet.

Houston fly fishing guide, Capt. Jeremy Chavez is a full-time fly fishing and light tackle fishing guide from Houston, Texas. He eats, sleeps, and breathes all things fishing. He left (he was laid-off but who’s keeping tabs) his career as a bean counter (he has a master’s degree in accounting) to chase his dream of becoming a nomadic fish bum.
When he’s not fishing you might find him: racking up the mileage on Timmy (his rusty ol’ truck that shows no signs of slowing down) en route to go fishing, sleeping on the bottom of his fiberglass canoe under the mangroves in middle of the Everglades (true story), sitting at a computer editing fish photos/footage, working on his left-handed back cast (not really), writing about fishing, creating flies to toss at fish, or scouring Google Earth for places to explore (we told you he was fishy).
Exact meeting location will be provided after booking.
Free cancellation up to 7 days before the trip.
