About

Captain Jake was raised on the lakes of northern Minnesota, where he discovered his love of fishing. He was gifted his first boat at age ten, and no one has been able to keep him off of the water since. He began his fishing career by taking friends out with him, before eventually starting a charter business specializing in catching the monsters of the lake, muskies.

Years ago, however, even the giant muskie wasn't big enough and he set his sights on sportfishing in Islamorada. After a few fishing charters with some local legends, owning his own boat and fishing these waters became a dream.

It only took a few years to make the move and begin fishing on one of the longest running charter boats in town. In 2017, he purchased the 'Power Play' and after much customization and fun fishing it found its new home at Holiday Isle Marina and Power Play Sportfishing was born.

For him, it's all about having a great time on the water and making people's visit to Islamorada a memorable one'Power Play' is a 34' Seavee equipped with a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, making it one of the most comfortable charter boats in the Florida Keys. The openness of our boat's large center console allows for easy maneuvering while fishing, and makes the possibility of landing double and triples a reality. With all top of the line fishing gear; Marsh Tacky Carbon outriggers, Shimano rods and reels, Simrad electronics, and high end kites, lures, and tackle, you'll have an advantage over the fish you're chasing after. Power Play's New 2019 twin Yamaha 300 engines cruise at 30kts. This boat even has all of the toys; a Bluetooth enabled JL audio sound system with 10 speakers and subs, interior and in water LED lights, beanbags, freshwater wash, and more. Regardless of whether you're looking for a day of hardcore fishing, or an afternoon of cruising the waters with the family, Power Play has everything you need.
