Off Season Fly Fishing Trips will typically be in Pine Island Sound. We will fish for as long as the fishing is good. All tackle is included, but if you have your own rods feel free to bring those as well. The boat will always have 8 and 10 weights ready to go! Your guide will provide water, Gatorade and light snacks. Feel free to bring additional food items or beer. Sun Bum sunscreen will be provided on the boat.

My name is Drew Naeckel. I am the owner and operator of Mangrove Maniacs. A service that I am very proud of and I hope to get the chance to share with you. I've spent nearly 30 years on these waters. Since 10 years old I have owned a boat and was eager to explore the area, and explore I did! At a young age, gaining experience like this leads to becoming a confident captain. Fast forward a couple decades and a few skiffs later now i’m a veteran guide with nearly 20 years full time guiding guests to some truly epic experiences. My addiction to backwater fishing started in the Crystal River while exploring the areas on a paddleboard. Covering many miles a day paddling from sunup to sundown I would slowly work through the marsh and mangroves hunting those skinny water fish. After graduating high school in 2016 I made the move to Southwest Florida and immediately started to navigate and learn the new to me waters looking for the excitement of finding those skinny water fish.

Codty is a native of Lee County and lifelong outdoorsman, growing up fishing our area waters and spending many years observing the hydrology and environments of Pine Island Sound, Charlotte Harbor and Estero Bay. Codty turned his passion for the environment into a profession, founding his own successful fishing guide and charter business in 2016 and has been featured on television and at tradeshows, including appearing in multiple episodes of Flats Class TV. He also has spent time in his career performing wetlands restoration and native landscaping services.
