Private trip guided by Kyle

Captain Kyle Velunza 10-19 years of experience

About

Trips typically begin at Casa Mar Village in Tavernier between 7:00 to 7:30 AM, or at noon for half day afternoon charters. You’re welcome to bring any food and beverages for the day. A light rain jacket is recommended year round, and during the winter months, an extra layer will keep you comfortable on the water.

Located just minutes from Islamorada, the sport fishing capital of the world, the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park offer world class fly and light tackle fishing. Target species include tarpon, bonefish, permit, snook, redfish, jacks, and snapper depending on the season. Whether you’re looking to catch your first saltwater fish or start checking off a bucket list of species, each trip is thoughtfully tailored to your experience level and goals.

With extensive experience fishing from Biscayne Bay to Bahia Honda and the Lower Keys, I focus on putting clients in the best possible position while keeping the day relaxed, efficient, and enjoyable. Depending on conditions, we may fish areas like Whitewater Bay, Marathon, or the backcountry to stay on the best bite.

From technical sight fishing on the flats to exploring the backcountry, my goal is to deliver a well run, memorable experience that keeps clients coming back season after season.

Guided by Captain Kyle Velunza

Key Largo, Florida10-19 years of experience

I started fishing at 5 years old, growing up in the Upper Florida Keys and learning the waters of Florida Bay from a young age. By 10, I was fly fishing and tying my own flies, and by 16, I landed my first grand slam on fly. I earned my captain’s license at 18 and have been guiding part-time ever since, while also fishing as a professional angler and mate in the South Florida sailfish circuit.

Over the years, I’ve spent time fishing and learning everything from Biscayne Bay to the Lower Keys and the Everglades, and have competed, placed, and won in multiple tournaments in both spin and fly categories, including back-to-back finishes in some events.

My love for fishing has grown into a passion for taking others out on the water, whether it’s a seasoned angler, new angler, or a young family experiencing it for the first time. I take pride in creating an experience—not just a fishing trip—while also sharing the beauty of the local ecosystem. Many trips offer an eco-tour aspect, where you can enjoy the wildlife, scenery, and everything the Florida Keys has to offer.

I live in Key Largo with my wife, who also enjoys fly fishing, and our young daughter, who already loves being on the boat. My goal is simple: put you on fish and make sure you leave with an experience you won’t forget.
