Caleb Hofer Guiding

I have called Wilmington North Carolina home for the past 8 years since attending and graduating from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. My guiding career began during the summer of my sophomore year when I landed a job as a kayak fishing guide out of Bald Head Island. That summer job would spark a passion to pursue guiding further, and I quickly found paths to do that, both locally for a hunting outfitter on the Roanoke and for Tikchik Narrows Lopdge, a fly-out operation in Alaska. In 2019 I began guiding for myself and in conjunction with Tar River Co. targeting popular inshore species from Surf City To Southport, with a speciality in fly-fishing for redfish. In the spring I spend time on the Roanoke and Tar Rivers pursuing striped bass and shad during their annual spawning runs before leaving for Tikchik Narrows Lodge in Alaska around early June and returning In mid-September for the fall hunting and fishing season.
