Sight fishing on the flats

Born and raised in ohio. Spent summers on Lake Erie chasing bass & walleye. My whole family was quite keen on fishing. Fished on the flats in key west for the first time in the early 80’s. At 10 years old my mind was blown away by “flats fishing “ completely enamored with it. By the next year , I had made up my mind that I needed to be a flats guide in the Florida Keys. As luck would have it , my family was also mad about fishing down here in Key West. So I was fortunate enough to spend my vacation time in the keys fishing. While I was still interested in freshwater fly fishing , the whole freshwater spin fishing didn’t quite have the same appeal. So I kept up with my passion of fishing and embraced my vacation time fishing in the Keys. After graduating high school It took a handful of semesters at the university of Oregon to solidify my choice to be a fly fishing guide in the Florida Keys.
