Carter Ailsworth

When I was about twelve years old, my father gifted me a cheap fly rod and a box of dry flies. Later that year I found myself in a small mountain stream in the Allegheny highlands of Virginia. That day I caught my first Brook trout. I can still remember the moment like it was yesterday, and the fire it lit inside me. Since then, I have spent countless hours targeting various species throughout the southeast and continue to fish every chance I get. I am not afraid of highway miles and enjoy fishing rivers such as the Smith, James, New River, TN tailwaters, and numerous streams and creeks in southwest VA. Chasing wild fish (and game) and sharing those experiences with others is my passion.
I have spent years developing rowing skills, teaching skills, and an intimate knowledge of the rivers I guide in order to provide an unforgettable experience.
