FishWater Outfitters offers many different types of guided fly fishing trips to many rivers throughout Montana although due to our close proximity to the Madison River near Ennis MT, we spend the majority of our time fly fishing The Madison River. All of our trips will be tailored to meet your needs and goals. We cater our trips to everyone from the beginner fly fisher to the advanced and seasoned angler, and we look forward to making your fishing goals a reality. We fish predominately from a16’ Low Profile Clackacraft Drift Boat, which provides a very comfortable and effective way to fly fish the rivers of Montana. Floating along one of Montana’s beautiful rivers and gazing at the spectacular mountains in the distance can be a very enjoyable way to spend the day, even if the fishing is tough! Our Madison River fly fishing guides will work their hardest to make sure that you have a great time on the river.
FULL DAY FLOATS
Our full day floats are generally a 7-9 hour day, departing in the morning from a pre-arranged meeting place. We provide transportation to and from Ennis or our previously arranged meeting place. Our Ennis MT fly fishing guides provide casting instruction prior to the float and throughout the day. Non-alcoholic beverages and a shore lunch will be provided during the trip. We do ask that you purchase a fishing license through the State of Montana FWP. Please purchase the license online or in any of the area's many fly shops before the trip.
HALF DAY FLOATS
Our half day floats are generally a 3-5 hour trip beginning in the morning, afternoon or evening depending on weather and fishing opportunities. FishWater Outfitters will provide non-alcoholic beverages and snacks throughout the trip.

Founder of FishWater Outfitters, Captain Braden Powell has built his life around the sport of fly-fishing. From his early beginnings on the New River in his hometown of Blacksburg, Virginia, Braden found his passion early in life. Drawn by the splendor of Montana’s legendary outdoor lifestyle and bountiful rivers with world-class fly-fishing destinations, Braden ventured west from the Blue Ridge Mountains to pursue his B.A. in Nature-based Tourism and Recreation Management from the University of Montana in Missoula.
Captain Braden Powell has traveled the world as a fly fishing guide. His work has taken him to fishing destinations including Montana, Idaho, Alaska, the Florida Keys, Patagonia Chile, The Bahamas and South Carolina. His specialized seasonal business puts him in all the best locations to guide every kind of fishing enthusiast.

Throughout the fall, winter and spring months, Braden can be found targeting redfish and other saltwater species in the South Carolina Lowcountry. The large expanse of saltwater estuaries around Charleston, SC offer endless possibilities for targeting redfish and other species on fly or light tackle.
ENNIS, MT FLY FISHING GUIDES
From late June to through September, FishWater Outfitters and Captain Braden Powell’s business thrives in the trout fishing town of Ennis, MT where the famed rivers of Southwestern MT are readily accessible. Braden fishes the Madison, Jefferson, Missouri and Yellowstone rivers while floating in his 16ft Clackacraft drift boat.
