I moved from Jackson Hole to New Orleans full time in 2019 to pursue Redfish with a fly rod. I love Redfish because their willingness to eat and their predatory tendencies. Teaching fly fishing/fly casting is something I really enjoy. From beginners to advanced there is always something new to learn or habit to break. Outings mostly revolve around the angling, but sometimes you walk a with more than a trophy red. On the boat I supply all non-alcholic beverages and lunch for the day. I will have all the gear that is needed for fishing, but feel free to bring your own rod and flies if you wish. Also come prepared with a La Charter passenger license (link at the bottom of the fields). Most days were on the water by 7 and back to the dock around 4, it's not an exact science. I usually reach out the night before and give you an idea of what the day will hold and set up a meeting time. Living in New Orleans, I commute to the water that I launch from. For people who fly into MSY or are staying in the city, it is possible to schedule pick up the morning of a trip. It is nice to spend time in the Big Easy eating and drinking through the city. Between the gumbo and the beignets it is easy to get carried away.
