Private trip guided by Brendan

Nueces Angling Co. 3-5 years of experience

About

Half-day trips start at 9am, ensuring you're back at the dock in time to unwind. 5 hours of shallow water fly fishing and sight casting from a poling skiff in the heart of the Texas coast. Redfish take center stage, but we may have shots at drum, trout, flounder, and sheepshead, seizing every opportunity that presents itself.

Full-day trips depart early and return late, dedicating 8-10 hours on the water depending on conditions. Lunch can be provided for an additional $15 per angler. Bring whatever snacks and drinks you'd like, I'll provide the water and ice. You should bring appropriate clothing for the conditions, and have a packable rain jacket. I'll call a few days before to discuss weather conditions so we know what to expect the day of the charter.

We will be poling and fishing with fly tackle, I've got everything you need but feel free to bring your own rods if you'd like! One angler fishes at a time, otherwise it's like sword fighting in a phone booth.

My goal is to end the day with all of my clients having a better understanding of fly fishing and the Texas coast. I can tailor the day to angler ability, all skill levels are welcome!

What to bring:
- Valid Texas saltwater or all-water fishing license
- Polarized glasses with bronze or copper lenses (I like Smith ChromaPop lenses)
- Non Marking shoes
- Wading booties if you prefer to wade
- Reusable water bottle
- Lunch or snacks for yourself (Sack lunch can be provided for $15/angler)

Fly Tackle Recommendations:
- Flats fishing: 7-9wt fly rods with weight forward floating line (Scientific Anglers Redfish or Grand Slam are my favorites)
- Jacks/Beachfront fishing: 10-12wt fly rods with weight forward floating (intermediate line is sometimes called for when fishing the beach or jetties)
- Flies: I will provide all flies we need for the day. If you wish to tie or buy your own, contact me and I'll recommend an assortment of my favorites depending on water conditions and time of year.

Corpus Christi, TX, USA3-5 years of experience

I'm a Texas coast fly fishing guide based out of Corpus Christi, specializing in sight fishing for redfish. I got my first fly rod at 13 and taught myself to fish on the local rivers and neighborhood ponds in DFW where I grew up. I moved to Corpus Christi to attend TAMU-CC the same week that hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast, and fell in love with the town, the people, and the fishery. I've also spent my summers guiding in Bristol Bay, Alaska since 2021.

Corpus Christi is centrally located on the Laguna Madre's endless miles of crystal clear grass and sand flats where we can target redfish and spotted sea trout, with occasional shots at black drum, flounder, and sheepshead. Nestled between Padre Island and the mainland, the Laguna Madre is home to more finfish than anywhere else on the Texas coast. It's a major stop for migratory birds, hosting 75% of the redhead duck population in the winter, and it may be one of the wildest places I've experienced outside of Alaska.

The fall redfishing is phenomenal all around, with winter providing many great opportunities and milder temperatures. As spring arrives, we can hunt for trophy speckled trout on Baffin Bay or go pole back lakes and sight fish.

My goal is to provide a memorable, safe, and educational day on the water where my guests walk away with a better understanding of fly fishing, and a deeper appreciation for the fishery I love.
