Private trip guided by Richard

Pensacola Beach Fly Fishing 6-9 years of experience

About

There is nothing like the tug of saltwater fish on a fly rod. For a first timer it will make them forget about fishing anywhere other than the salt! Beginning fly fishing lessons should start once you master the basic Pickup and Laydown cast and extending line out to 50’. Think about covering water, the more you cover the better your chances of enticing a fish to take your fly.

This trip is designed to put together the land skills and apply them to fishing. Additional instruction will include casting in the wind, line management, casting to and fighting fish. This is all designed to get you to the ultimate, sight casting to individual fish. This a 5-hour trip with 1 hour of lessons and then 4 hours of fishing.

Guided by Pensacola Beach Fly Fishing

Gulf Breeze, Florida6-9 years of experience

As a long time resident of the Pensacola Area, I grew fishing Pensacola Bay, Santa Rosa Sound and the Gulf of Mexico. This experience provides me the opportunity to show clients the ins and outs of fly fishing this area.

I have been fly fishing for more than 30 years and was fortunate to work in the fly fishing retail business for approximately 10 years, which honed my skills at instructing beginners. For me nothing is more enjoyable than watching a first timer to fly fishing (or saltwater) catch their first saltwater fish on a fly.

My passion is sight fishing the shallow water flats of Pensacola waters for the likes of redfish, speckled trout, the aerobic ladyfish, and their larger cousin, the silver king, tarpon. I venture offshore for schools of false albacore and Spanish mackerel.
