About
The Bow River is a world renowned river starting on the east side of the Alberta Rockies and flows through the City of Calgary and Southern Alberta. Enjoy a float through the legendary Blue Ribbon Stretch, fishing for wild, tenacious Rainbow and Brown Trout. This stretch of river holds approximately 2500 fish per mile, with fish averaging between 16-20 inches. It is not uncommon though, to get a trophy fish that is much larger.

Paula Shearer is an experienced fly fishing angler and a guide on the Bow River and Southern Alberta Streams. She started fly fishing at a young age and by her late teens she was hooked on fishing the Bow. It was from that point where her true passion for the sport took over. Since then she has spent most of her days on the banks and drifting this world renowned river. She enjoys sharing her love for fly fishing by mentoring and teaching those who are new to the sport. Join Paula on the water and let her show you all that this Blue Ribbon river has to offer.
Paula has had the privilege of hosting and co hosting ‘Fly Nation’, In the Loop, and Fly Fusion TV, which air on WFN. She has also been a part of a number of other fly fishing films. She has been fortunate enough to have some of her photos and articles published in magazines.
