I’ve lived in south Florida most of my life and there’s nowhere I feel more comfortable than around the mangroves and grass flats that comprise my office. I’m a skiff guide and would rather throw fly than anything else but who doesn’t love working a top water plug on a calm slick morning. I’ve been teaching the sport of fly and light tackle angling since 2002. For me, it’s more than a sport, it’s a lifestyle and I live to spend my time working mangrove, grass flats, and oyster bar country. Sight fishing when possible. Shallow water hunting. I still believe fishing should be fun.Teaching is my passion and beginning salt water fly fishers are always welcome.
All in all, my trips are personal and I only do one on any given day. It’s your day and I’ve seen how wind, weather, and tides can make every day unique. Together, we’ll consider every variable along with our abilities to provide us an opportunity for a rewarding experience.
For sure, fly fishing is one of the fastest growing segments of our sport. In fact, the bow of a skiff is a great spot to work a line. With plenty of room for a backcast, the teamwork that can be established between the poling platform and the bow makes for an enjoyable experience.
Fishing out of Pineland Marina on Pine Island sound is my favorite and provides quick access to one of the best habitats and fisheries in the Charlotte Harbor estuary system.
Particularly when it’s warm, mornings are always the best time of day and a typical day starts around 7:00 a.m.
Exact meeting location will be discussed after booking.

I grew up in south Miami and Key Largo. I started fishing in about 3rd grade. I started guiding in 2002 when I moved to Punta Gorda. I believe what makes me unique is that I’m very patient with my clients and also very passionate about our habitat and fisheries. Teaching really drives me and I really enjoy sharing all the information I can about our area’s history and the sport of fly and light tackle angling. I’ve really watched the fly fishing community grow over the last 15 years and it’s great to see more skiffs poling our estuaries these days.
