About

8-Hour Fly Fishing & Light Tackle Charter – Rockport, Texas

Spend a full day exploring the shallow flats, marshes, and back lakes of Rockport, Texas from a technical poling skiff built for sight fishing in skinny water. This trip is designed for anglers who want the full experience chasing coastal fish on fly or light tackle while covering as much water and opportunity as possible.

Depending on conditions and season, we’ll target redfish, black drum, trout, and other coastal species throughout the Texas flats. Expect technical shots at cruising fish, tailing redfish in shallow water, and the kind of visual fishing that makes the Texas coast one of the best sight fisheries in the country.

Whether you’re an experienced fly angler or newer to saltwater fishing, trips are tailored to your skill level with a focus on learning, having fun, and enjoying time on the water.

The extra time allows us to fish multiple tides, explore different areas, and slow down when the conditions are right. Some days are all about hunting fish in inches of water, while others mean long drifts, laid up fish, or schools pushing across the flats.

Trip Includes:
• 8 Hours on the water
• Fly fishing & light tackle options
• Technical poling skiff experience
• Up to 2 anglers

Guided by Salt Sessions Texas

Rockport, TX, USA10-19 years of experience

Welcome! My name is KC Burns, born and raised in South Texas, I have been a licensed Captain and full time guide since 2016, With over two decades combined experience chasing fish and waves along saltwater coastlines, I’ve built my life around the tides and swells. My passion for the saltwater runs deep, from sight casting to redfish on the fly in quiet, glassy flats to gliding down clean, waist high peelers at sunrise, and the occasional hurricane swell chaos. Fishing and surfing have taught me so much about what it takes to survive in the salt and between the two, I stay connected to the fish and patterns.

Based in Rockport, Texas, I specialize in shallow water fly fishing and technical sight fishing for redfish, black drum, and coastal species along the Texas coast. My passion is poling skinny water in a skiff, hunting tailing fish, and creating unforgettable one-on-one experiences for anglers who appreciate the challenge of sight casting in clear water.
Whether you’re an experienced fly angler or looking to learn the art of fly fishing on the Texas flats, my trips are built around patience, presentation, and putting anglers in position for quality shots at fish. I focus on small group, personalized guided fishing trips with an emphasis on conservation, professionalism, and authentic coastal adventure.
From calm summer mornings to windy winter tides, Rockport offers some of the best fly fishing and sight fishing opportunities on the Texas coast. My goal is simple, help anglers improve their skills, enjoy the water, and experience the excitement of stalking fish in shallow water from a technical poling skiff.
