Half Day (5 Hours) – Shallow Water Adventure
Step aboard my poling skiff and let’s chase fish the way they’re meant to be caught, up close, sight-casting in skinny water! We’ll spend five hours exploring the creeks, grass flats, and backwaters of Topsail Island, hunting redfish and other shallow-water species with fly or light tackle.
Only one angler fishes at a time so I can pole and position you for the perfect shot, while your buddy kicks back on the cooler with a cold drink, camera, and front-row seat to the action. Expect clear water, tailing fish, and that heart-pounding moment when you see the eat.
All gear, tackle, and good vibes are included, just bring your shades, sunscreen, and sense of adventure.

Welcome! My name is KC Burns, born and raised in South Texas, I have been a licensed Captain and full time guide since 2016, With over two decades combined experience chasing fish and waves along saltwater coastlines, I’ve built my life around the tides and swells. My passion for the saltwater runs deep, from sight casting to redfish on the fly in quiet, glassy flats to gliding down clean, waist high peelers at sunrise, and the occasional hurricane swell chaos. Fishing and surfing have taught me so much about what it takes to survive in the salt and between the two, I stay connected to the fish and patterns.
As a USCG licensed captain, I specialize in technical saltwater fly and light tackle fishing, focusing on shallow water redfish where every cast feels like a hunt. When conditions line up, I also trade the skiff for a surfboard, offering private surf lessons tailored to all skill levels (NC East Coast Retreats Only).
I take pride in crafting experiences that are personal, relaxed, and rooted in respect for the coast. My goal is simple... to share the rhythm, challenge, and beauty of these waters in a way that leaves you feeling connected, confident, and stoked long after the day is done.
