My name is KC Burns, I have been a licensed Captain and full time guide since 2016, With over two decades combined experience chasing fish and waves along saltwater coastlines, I’ve built my life around the tides. My passion for the saltwater runs deep, from sight casting to redfish on the fly in quiet, glassy creeks to gliding down clean, waist high peelers at sunrise.
As a licensed captain, I specialize in technical saltwater fly and light tackle fishing, focusing on shallow water redfish where every cast feels like a hunt. When conditions line up, I also trade the skiff for a surfboard, offering private surf lessons tailored to all skill levels. Whether you’re brand new or looking to refine your technique, I’ll guide you to the best breaks around Topsail Island and share the local insight only years on the water can bring.
