As a family run business, we tailor each trip to fit our clients' goals. We fish the most experienced of anglers to the novice, there is something for everyone! For our fly anglers we provide high quality gear including Hardy, Tibor reels, and Cortland lines; we will come prepared with all the tackle you will need. We are knowledgable, patient, and fun! Captain Brian Helms fishes on his custom 2023 Chittum skiff-a vessel that will get you to where you need to go and can fish in the shallow waters of Florida Bay and the Everglades.
We can accommodate 2 anglers.

Homestead offered a great place for Capt. Brian Helms to hone his skills at targeting the many species that call South Florida home. He began guiding on his backcountry skiff in 2000 at the age of 18, and his passion has only deepened since. In addition to his flats and backcountry fishing trips Brian also began taking clients offshore and to the reef. In 2004, with increasing interest to fish in the Keys, Capt. Brian Helms moved to Islamorada, the Sport Fishing Capitol of the World. He has since made a name for himself in the fishing community winning numerous tournaments, most notably the 2013 Hawley tarpon tournament and the 2013 50th Anniversary of the Gold Cup tournament.
Here at Sea Ya Fishing Charters we are known for creating memories for anglers young and old, experienced to novice. Some of our adventures include fly-fishing for shallow clear water bonefish, tarpon, and permit, taking a 10 yr old to the Everglades for his or her first fishing trip to experience lots of rod bending action, going offshore to fish the Reef for snapper and grouper or even further to try for sailfish, mahi, and tuna, and we also offer short local eco tours for anyone wishing to just be on the water and explore the rich cultural history that dates back to the 1800’s. We are your one stop shop for all things on the water around the Keys.
