Shallow Water Angling

My name is Captain Owen Armstrong. I grew up in Orlando, Florida where I discovered my passion for fishing. Some of my first childhood memories are fishing local neighborhood ponds for largemouth bass. As I got older I was introduced to fly fishing where my passion grew even larger. I picked up my first fly rod when I was 8 years old and haven’t put it down since. I spent all of my teenage years fishing Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River, and Banana River. As I got older my obsession for sight fishing grew bigger and bigger. I decided to become a fishing guide to share my passion and experiences with others. Mosquito Lagoon holds a special place in my heart. The lagoon is unique because you can catch tailing redfish with the sound of waves crashing along Playalinda beach in the background. There is also a vast variety of wildlife that calls Mosquito Lagoon home. You never know what you might encounter on a daily basis. This fishery is always changing which allows me to learn new techniques and productive zones to produce fish for my clients. From redfish, sea trout, snook, tarpon and black drum the lagoon has something for everyone.
