About

Half day option:
Half day smallmouth bass trips are 4 hours of fishing that does not include travel. This is a perfect trip for the family, kids, and friends to come out and catch a great number of fish. Spring smallmouth love to roam the flats of sand, gravel, and rock eating all sorts of lures from finesse baits like swim jigs, hair jigs, small soft plastics all the way to crankbaits of all sizes! These fish fight pound for pound harder than any other in the northwoods. Join me in the boat to see first hand everything about smallies!

Full day option:
Full day smallmouth bass trip includes 8 hours of fishing that does not include travel. Just like the half day trip but with the benefit of catching higher numbers of smallmouth and a real big one. It is common to find 19", 20" and even up to 21"+ smallmouth in the lakes around Vilas and Oneida counties. The full day trip also has the flexibility of changing lakes if need be. Smallmouth in the spring can be very aggressive and fight hard so it is up to me to bring you to the lake that offers the best opportunity for active fish. Let's go catch some smallies!

Eagle River, Wisconsin6-9 years of experience

Gus has grown up fishing in Wisconsin’s Vilas and Oneida counties since he was 7 years old. Of all the fish this region has to offer he has landed on the top predator of the northwoods food chain - the infamous musky. Although Gus is new to the guiding game he is no stranger to hooking in to these phantom fish on the regular. In the last two years he has had 180+ muskies boated - many in the 40+ inch category, 27 and counting lakes that he’s boated fish on, 2nd place in the National Championship Musky Open in 2021, an 8th place finish in a professional musky tournament trail (PMTT) event in 2022, and a 4th place solo fishing a PMTT event in spring of 2023. He is knowledge filled and loves to teach new and seasoned anglers everything about muskies. He is a charismatic, young fisherman that you’ll be sure to have a great time with!
