The Fly Box

Our Tailwater guided trips are float-style adventures and fishing is done from a moving drift boat with 1-2 anglers in each boat. We float anywhere from 4-7 miles in a single day depending upon river conditions. Our friendly guides will do everything they can to make your adventure the best it can be. The Fly Box is located 4 minutes from the South Holston River and a short drive from the Watauga. Where a guide trip takes place will be determined by your guide who works hard to stay up to date on the flows and which river is fishing the best!

The mountain streams are the hidden gem of Eastern Tennessee fly fishing. These fisheries are all about hiking the wild and fishing to small trout in beautiful places. On occasion we bump into 14" fish but most fish will be 6-12" and voracious. It is a very good trip for beginners and a great way to get coaching on how to properly wade fish. Beaverdam, Whitetop Laurel, and Roan Mountain are some of our favorite fisheries in the area.
