A Half Day spent chasing fish in the marsh surrounding the beautiful historic city of St. Augustine. A trip into the marshes of Northeast Florida is a trip back a trip back in time to times when things were much simpler. On the bow of my skiff, you will be looking for fish in some of the most scenic marsh in North America.
The marshes surrounding St. Augustine are unique in that there are also mangroves along with your typical spartina and oyster flat marshes. Redfish here in St. Augustine are the primary target for sight fishing as they get shallower than any other game fish local the area. These fish will tail with their entire back half out of the water or swim with their belly sliding over the mud and their eyes halfway out of the water, this behavior is unique to the lowcountry, and makes fly and light tackle fishing St. Augustine extremely fun.
Exact meeting location will be discussed after booking.

Hey everyone, my name is Mason Schilling, I was born and raised on low country fishing in Charleston, SC. After finding my passion for fly fishing in high school I moved to St. Augustine, FL to attend Flagler college where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in environmental science. I have been fishing in St. Augustine's marshes for the past 9 years and picked up guiding this year both independently and for Old City Guide service. I strive for my clients to not only catch fish but walk away with a healthy knowledge of our local fisheries and ecosystems.
