Join me for a full day (up to 8 hour) float trip down the New River, Jackson River, and James River in Virginia as we fish for Smallmouth, Trout, and Muskie on fly. Whether you're a fly fishing veteran or a complete newbie, we'll get you on some incredible fish and share a day that you won't soon forget. Lear more about the rivers we fish and species we target below.
Every trip is custom-tailored to you and/or your group. From the time we meet until the time I drop you off, absolutely everything is taken care of, everything is considered. From dietary restrictions to special needs, we accommodate the need of every individual on board. You'll know what to bring, where to meet, how the weather will be, and even the river conditions.
My biggest goal is to leave you with an experience and a day of fishing that you will never forget. When we get out on the water, we hit 'em and we hit 'em hard. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned veteran, I use all of my experience and skills to get you on the best fishing possible and have the best time with us possible.
All equipment and lunch included.
Exact meeting location will be discussed after booking.

I'm Wesley Hodges. I was born to fly fish and bird hunt. Yes, my life may have taken some random turns, but my focus always remained true: I am passionate about sharing my sport with clients looking for adventure. There is a moment of shared joy and success when a client lands their first trophy fish or gets their first upland bird. That moment consumes me.
The first time I ever had a fly fishing rod in my hand was in Colorado at a Boy Scout Camp, and that moment has stuck with me. Ever since that time I've been in love with the outdoors to the extent that it consumes me. My life has taken some unexpected turns, serving in the military, going to university, and eventually winding up getting involved with Project Healing Waters. I started guiding fly fishing for Project Healing Waters and that started my guiding career.
I love guiding and I love teaching clients something new and something better that maybe they've never done before to land that trophy fish. Also, I love guiding because people get so consumed by everyday life and just basic living that I love giving them the chance to get back outside and get in touch with what they really are passionate about.
It's about trophy fish and harvesting nice birds, but it's also about living life to the fullest.
