Experience freshwater salmon and trout fishing at its finest at Saltery Lake Lodge, located on wild and beautiful Kodiak Island. Immerse yourself in the Alaskan wilderness while enjoying the expertise of top-of-the-line fishing guides and the cuisine of a 5-star chef. The lodge provides private waterfront views of its namesake lake and the majestic surrounding mountains. Just outside its door, four rivers teem with trophy-sized ocean-bright salmon on their natal migration. Continuing down Saltery Creek, you'll encounter the Pacific Ocean and Ugak Bay, along with some of Alaska’s most iconic scenery. The lodge accesses its unique fisheries with four-wheel-drive SXS vehicles conducted by guides for morning and afternoon fishing sessions. Operated by pilot and third-generation lodge owner Dave Magoffin, the lodge’s Cessna 185 floatplane will transport you from the city of Kodiak to Saltery Lake on a breathtaking 20-minute flight. Transportation to and from the lodge is included in your week-long package, and no extra charter fees apply.
Those joining this exceptional trip should land in Kodiak by Saturday, September 20th, 2025. Lodge staff will retrieve clients on Sunday, September 21st, to fly them to the lodge in the bush plane.
This is an all-inclusive resort. Airfare is not covered in this cost.
All rods and tackle for these trips will be provided through Winston Rods.
Itinerary
Guests will fly into beautiful Kodiak, Alaska and receive a warm welcome from Kodiak Taxi Service that will transport you to your accommodations for the night.
In the morning, catch the shuttle to Lily Lake — where you will board a bush plane and fly into Saltery Lake Lodge. Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll have plenty of time to get settled in your cabin. A light lunch is served — before hitting the water in the evening to close out the travel day with a teaser of world-class Alaskan fishing.
Arise bright and early for breakfast before the day of fishing begins. Depart the lodge in state-of-the-art overland vehicles and travel to one of four remarkable nearby rivers to target coho salmon on the fly. Lunch is served at the lodge, before heading back out to fish each evening. Return to the lodge for the night for exquisitely prepared dinner, games, and relaxation with the whole crew.
Bid farewell to Saltery Lake Lodge and board a bush plane back to Lily Lake. We suggest booking the latest flight out of Kodiak Island on Saturday, September 26th.
