About
The months of March and April in Virginia offer the best chances at catching a true Giant Virginia Smallmouth. These fish are eating big lures and flies bulking up in preparation for spawn and we regularly land fish in the 5lb and 6lb+ class!
Whether you’re a fly angler or casting lures, experienced bass angler or new to river fishing for smallmouth - We will make sure this trip will be one for the books! Learn how I break down the river and target these larger Smallmouth during the PreSpawn Season.
Full Discloser - this is not a numbers trip. We are focusing our time on finding you Trophy bass. Typical days in March and April anglers can expect to land 10-20 fish a day with 3-4 of them being 5lb+ trophy class fish.

Sam has grown up a student to the rivers of Virginia and spent his entire adult life honing his techniques and sharing his passion of fishing with others. Working closely with the VA DWR tagging and studying these species Sam has an intimate knowledge of these fisheries that not many others share. USCG Licensed , Fully Insured, CPR/AES/Swift Water Certified.
Accommodating fly anglers or conventional gear, 1-2 anglers per boat and up to 6 angler groups.

Cancellation policy
Cancellation Policy – 14 Days Notice must be given for all reschedules / cancellations. Any and ALL cancellations made within the 14 day window will not be eligible for deposit refunds. Our calendar and schedule fills up months in advance and because our clientele comes from all over the country and the world, we cannot fill spots last minute. Canceling on your guide last minute , unless for dire health problems, puts them in a tough spot when it comes time to pay the bills. Please be courteous and only book dates you are absolutely sure you can commit to. Thank You!
