About
Our Walk and Wade fly fishing is based out of Roscoe, New York - "Trout Town USA"! We fish a variety of water including the Willowemoc, Beaverkill, East Branch of the Delaware, the Neversink, Esopus Creek, and various small mountain brook trout streams. Our region offers everything from spot and stalk dry fly fishing, to nymph fishing pocket water, and onto fishing the banks with streamers. We have guides that specialize in all aspects of fly fishing our Catskill rivers, as well as casting and general instruction.
New to fly fishing? Experienced angler? We have something for everyone and we’re happy to work with you! The Catskill Mountain region is famed for being the birthplace of American Fly Fishing! The area offers excellent dry fly fishing, showcasing all of the major mayfly and caddis hatches. In between hatches, we may fish nymphs or streamers and chase brown, rainbow, and brook trout wherever they may be hiding! Our trips are catered to your skill level and all trips for new anglers will begin with an hour of basic instruction. Our goal is to have fun, educate, and help you gain the knowledge you need to be confident and successful on the river! Whether you want to work on your fly presentation, learn to read water, or you’re looking to escape the rush of everyday life for some time on the water, we are here to make your time with us fun and enjoyable.

Trips Include:

Don't have your own fly fishing gear? No problem! We have all gear available for rental. Our rentals are $25 per day, per angler and include everything you need for your time with us!
Anglers 16 and over must have a NYS Fishing License! We do not sell licenses, but see the links on our website to purchase online. You can also visit many sporting shops in to buy a license in person.

Located in the birthplace of American fly fishing and in a home to golden era ruffed grouse hunting, our region is full of tradition, beautiful trout streams, and upland bird habitat. Joe Heusinger, owner and outfitter of Covert Creek Outfitting, LLC, has been fly fishing and upland bird hunting for over 20 years! Going into his 10th season of guiding, he still maintains the mindset that what we do is about the experience. Fly fishing and grouse hunting the Catskills is not always easy, and that's the very reason we do it! Located in the Western Catskill Mountain region, we are within 2 hours of New York City and only 1 hour from many popular Hudson Valley towns! Most of our fishing trips are based out of Roscoe, New York – “Trout Town, USA” – providing fast access to many of the region’s famed blue-ribbon streams! We have something to offer anglers of all skill levels and create your trip of a lifetime!
Our wingshooting and ruffed grouse hunting trips are based out of upper Delaware County and Schoharie County, and range across the Mohawk Valley region. We offer hunters a day in some of New York’s prime timber cuts and old orchards lined with stone walls; a true day in the New England grouse woods!
