Our Walk and Wade fly fishing is based out of Roscoe, New York - "Trout Town USA"! We fish a variety of water including the Willowemoc, Beaverkill, East Branch of the Delaware, the Neversink, Esopus Creek, and various small mountain brook trout streams. Our region offers everything from spot and stalk dry fly fishing, to nymph fishing pocket water, and onto fishing the banks with streamers. We have guides that specialize in all aspects of fly fishing our Catskill rivers, as well as casting and general instruction. New to fly fishing? Experienced angler? We have something for everyone and we’re happy to work with you! The Catskill Mountain region is famed for being the birthplace of American Fly Fishing! The area offers excellent dry fly fishing, showcasing all of the major mayfly and caddis hatches. In between hatches, we may fish nymphs or streamers and chase brook, brown, or rainbow trout. Our trips are catered to your skill level and all trips for new anglers will begin with an hour of basic instruction. Our goal is to have fun, educate, and help you gain the knowledge you need to be confident and successful on the river! Whether you want to work on your fly presentation, learn to read water, or you’re looking to escape the rush of everyday life for some time on the water, we are here to make your time with us fun and enjoyable. We have all gear available for rental. Our rentals are $25 per day, per angler and include everything you need for your time with us! Anglers 16 and over must have a NYS Fishing License. Covert Creek Outfitting is now offering guided upland hunting for ruffed grouse and migratory woodcock! We hunt all wild birds on public land throughout the Catskills, Mohawk Valley, and Central New York. Our coverts [pronounced ‘cuh-verts’] are full of prime aged grouse and woodcock habitat; from overgrown apple trees to aspen stands, rock walls and alder bottoms – we hunt thick cover to find and flush the king of the upland gamebirds! We hunt over pointing dogs and welcome guests to bring their own pointing or flushing dog! Our typical flush rates exceed the state average, but we encourage guests to hunt at least two half days to experience what our coverts have to offer. We may hike multiple miles of terrain in a day, and we hunt hard to produce the best that our region has to offer! Our hunts are based out of the upper Delaware County and Schoharie County areas. Our guides have a broad range of coverts to accommodate weather, dog hunting style, your preferences, and physical ability. We are offering our 2027 Cast & Blast package for the month of October: Trout, Ruffed Grouse, & Woodcock! 1 or 2 people - 3 hours fly fishing, 3 hours hunting, and a Field Lunch for only $850.00! A great way to spend the day outdoors doing what you love! Whether you're a seasoned fly angler and grouse hunter, or new to one or both, our Cast & Blast is a great way to gain experience in these sporting adventures! We begin the day with a Grouse and Woodcock hunt, followed by a tailgate lunch, and then we head for the river for a few hours of afternoon trout fishing.
