Covert Creek Outfitting is offering Trout & Grouse Camp weekends in the Catskills! What began as a way to get a group of friends together on the river has grown into a way of bringing like-minded people together through fly fishing, food, drink, and a campfire.
Camp weekends are perfect for those new to fly fishing & ruffed grouse hunting, those looking for some extra instruction, or anyone with experience who enjoys time away in a group setting. Each trip is built around those attending and we all share in the experience. You can expect plenty of time on the river, hunting hard behind our dogs, and nights around the campfire with a drink in hand. Camps are limited to 4 anglers or 4 hunters, maximum.
All camps include:
– 1.5 days guided fishing or hunting
– Use of Rod/Reel and all tackle needed
– Use of Upland gear as needed
– Camp Dinner
– Camp Breakfast
– Field Lunch

Joe Heusinger, owner and outfitter of Covert Creek Outfitting, LLC, has been fly fishing and upland bird hunting for over 20 years! Going into his 10th season of guiding, he still maintains the mindset that what we do is about the experience. Fly fishing and grouse hunting the Catskills is not always easy, and that's the very reason we do it! Located in the Western Catskill Mountain region, we are within 2 hours of New York City and only 1 hour from many popular Hudson Valley towns! Most of our fishing trips are based out of Roscoe, New York – “Trout Town, USA” – providing fast access to many of the region’s famed blue-ribbon streams! We have something to offer anglers of all skill levels and create your trip of a lifetime!
Our wingshooting and ruffed grouse hunting trips are based out of upper Delaware County and Schoharie County, and range across the Mohawk Valley region. We offer hunters a day in some of New York’s prime timber cuts and old orchards lined with stone walls; a true day in the New England grouse woods!
