The only reason I am giving this review as many as 3 stars is because our guide was so terrific, as were his dogs. Our guide Justin is fantastic and if the bird population finally comes back I would definitely want to ask for him again as our guide. It certainly wasn’t for lack of trying that we only saw one small covey of Quail in two days of hunting. Zero birds the second day. He took us to the best possible quail habitat you can imagine, but just no birds. When Dave Brown outfitters told us it was a little slow, we didn’t expect it to mean virtually nonexistent. The quail population is so distressed I don’t understand why Dave Brown outfitters should even be booking hunts in this region. They should be trying to help the quail population recover, not booking hunts in a region with an already greatly depleted quail population. All in all we had a good time thanks to Justin. We saw beautiful country, the weather was good and watching his dogs work was a true joy. Sincerely, Don

Highly recommend this trip! As newbies to fly fishing we really appreciated and learnt loads from Angie's experience. The arrangements and set up was very smooth from start to finish and Angie went above and beyond our expectations.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our float on the Bow. My wife did not fish but enjoyed the scenery and engaging conversation with Quinn, our guide. It was a bit windy which quickly called attention to my modest casting ability. Quinn was very patient, offering pointers to cope with the sporadic gales and some welcomed line mending suggestions. Although I did not catch a lot of fish, I did manage a very nice brown, rainbow, and white fish along with a smattering of smaller fish, long distance releases, and snail like responses to cunning takes. It was a full day of fishing, nice boat, scrumptious lunch, and very good comradery.

Great Time

I fished with Dave Brown Outfitters for three consecutive days. The first day was a backcountry hike and wade on The Upper Old Man River. Ralph is an excellent guide. We had a day filled of Westslope Cutthroats using a variety of tactics depending on the section of river. The next two days were drifts on The Bow River. Quinn put me on the fish! He is a great guide, who knows the river well and provides as much or as little coaching as desired. Both guides were excellent anglers and humble in the their approach. I fished Alberta while awaiting the rest of my party to arrive for a trip to the National Parks, but will be back again to specifically fish with Ralph and Quinn.

Very competent guides introduced me to some ferocious rainbows.

Petar was a fantastic guide - patient, fun and worked well with my daughter who is new to fly fishing! I caught the biggest fish of my life on the Bow - 25 inch brown who was a beast! We will be back and ask for Peter again. This is a first class buying outfit!

Had great fishing and guiding while fishing with Dave, Jack and Ralph ! Good sized fish even under less than ideal river conditions ! Would recommend them for any serious fly rod fishermen and will return some day !

Wow a trip to never forget! I could not be happier with my experience with Dave Brown Outfitters. I fishing for 3 days the water was high and muddy and at first I was a bit discouraged well that all changed very quickly 20 minutes into the float down river when my leech dropper went under and I strip set and was not quite sure if I hit a snag but it was no snag I never felt the power and torque in my rod like that in a long time. I along with my guide Gavin knew we had a big Trout on our hands I knew if I got Her on the reel I could lose Her but used all my experience not to panic during this epic battle so I stayed on the line and went toe to toe with her for at least 10-15 minutes trying no to horse her and once we saw Her we knew we had a fish of a lifetime on our hands. We managed to steer her close to the bank and Gavin was quick to the draw to land this beauty 26 inch Brown Trout. we were both somewhat speechless for a brief moment and then we were tossing high fives and fist pumps. We took some awesome pics and Gavin with surgeon hands carefully handled Her and let Her swim out of the next when she was ready. Little did I know but it was only going to get better we landed another beast a 25 inch Brown we only managed to catch a couple more in the 20 plus range that day in the 3 days landed a average of 4-5 fish a day but the size was nothing short of shocking. I fished with Gavin 2 days and Dan the final day and both were masters at their craft and even better people they didn't over guide kind of there to let you figure things out and knew just when to tell you how to improve your skill. I even had a chance to break bread with Dave Brown himself who was on the water and he was a super nice guy also. I am so pumped I going back next month. I am one happy customer thanks guys. Mike Turnbull guided us for a day on the Bow. He was cheerful, competent, and well-organized. We fished in off color water as a result of heavy rains but he found fish for us and we did well. He was articulate and interesting, good at telling us how best to fish in those conditions. His equipment and the lunches were first rate. We’d gladly fish with him again.

Dave's guides knew the river well and worked hard in tough river conditions to find fish.

Bow river conditions were awful. Mother Nature screwed it up. With that said, I enjoyed my guides who worked hard in impossible conditions. Kudos to all involved. I would happily float with DB again.

We just finished 3 days of fishing on the Bow. Our guides were top notch, putting us on great runs throughout the river. DBO always has some of the best guides on the Bow and in BC, on the Elk and surrounding rivers. I've used them a few times and I always have a great experience.

Best day trip experience from start to finish. My 2 boys & wife can’t stop talking about it. Both tour guides (Dan & Jack) were exceptional on communication, expectations and took the time to assist our group of 4 on any/all items we needed. My older son & I were with river guide Jack all day and the enthusiasm from him every time we caught a trout made the other person try that much harder to catch the next one. We caught 5 apiece with me catching the last one minutes before we put the rods away.
