Fly or light tackle trip targeting the flood tides here in North East Florida. Flood tides showcase tailing redfish and sheepshead in the flooded grass flats chasing crabs. It is the ideal time to stalk and sight fish from either the boat or on foot.
Exact meeting location will be discussed after booking.

Hey there. My name is Charlie Martin. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I started fishing the marsh and intracoastal waterways in this area when I was 13 years old, I’m 26 now. My guiding career began in 2017. I spend 8 months guiding for redfish on the fly in Jacksonville and the remaining 4 months of the summer guiding for trophy rainbow trout and salmon out in Alaska.
Our fishery is special here in Jax. Our landscape of spartina marsh grass and mud flats is shaped by our daily tidal swings and held in place by the thousands of oysters bars scattered across these creeks. Guiding for redfish here is visually active, engaging and exciting. Much like hunting with a bow. On average, much like any sight fishing guide, I will push us through an average depth of 1 foot of water, so seeing these fish crawl through the mud, dig in the grass and explode on a school of shrimp is a daily occurrence. My go to fly is a custom colored and tied crab fly mimicking one of the many unique species of crustaceans we have here.
