Spring

Summer

Offshore fishing is at its peak in Miami during the summer. Anglers can target blackfin tuna, mahi mahi, and an abundance of other fish drawn to the warmer waters. Inshore around Biscayne Bay and the Everglades, target bonefish, tarpon, redfish, snook, and permit.

Fall

Inshore, bonefish and tarpon make for excellent fall fishing targets around Miami, Biscayne Bay, and the Everglades.  In the Atlantic, annual baitfish migrations attract amberjack, barracuda, and other nearshore and offshore species. The weather may limit the number of fishable days offshore, but the bite is hot.

Winter

Both offshore and inshore fishing are productive with cooler temperatures and a variety of gamefish like redfish and snook feeding in bays and shallow flats.

A major driving force in South Florida’s fishery, the Gulf Stream current meets the continental shelf just 2 miles off of Miami’s coastline. This stream of warm, and food-rich water brings an array of pelagic species within a short run from port.
