Family fishing trips are a version of our backcountry fishing geared particularly toward families with kids! Venturing out in our big and comfy bay boats it’s a blast for adults and children alike! You can expect to explore the waters of Islamorada on one of our pristine bay boats while fishing with the best equipment available in the industry. We will ensure that your family will have a fun time on the water wether it’s you first time out or your 50th! Our captains offer lots of smiles, gentle instruction as needed, and a no pressure day on the water… we keep fishing fun!
In the backcountry we catch a wide variety of species of fish all in the shallow waters of the Florida Bay and Everglades.
As many visitors are unsure of what to fish for and what level angler they really are, we structure our family fishing trips around these species using light tackle to provide constant rod bending, drag screaming action for our anglers. This keeps the kids engaged and makes for an exciting day on the water! Not everyone wants to fish? No problem! Come a long for the ride, enjoy the beautiful scenery and have a great time without even touching a rod! We have lots of mangrove islands to see, as well as numerous animal species that include dolphins, sharks, turtles, and various bird life. Our bayboats can accommodate up to 6 people as long as a few are young kids!
The biggest question we get is “Won’t we get seasick?” and the answer is unequivocally NO! The shallow waters of the Florida Bay and Everglades are very user friendly and not rocky rolly like the sea sick inducing waters of the deep Atlantic Ocean and as experienced on offshore charters.
Exact meeting location will be discussed after booking.

Florida Keys Fun Fishing is owned and operated by Capt. Mark Johnson and his wife, Kara, and located right in the heart of Islamorada, the centerpiece of Florida Keys Fishing. Capt. Mark spent much of his childhood right here in Islamorada as a destination for his family. Oddly enough, all through the 70′s, his family stayed at the original La Siesta Resort and Marina, located at Mile Marker 80.5 ocean side, in Islamorada. “My parents loved to go boating, fishing, and snorkeling and they created endless family fun in the Florida Keys for their kids. My younger brother and I spent many a day and night as kids fishing, snorkeling and flat out exploring islands in the Florida Bay and Everglades and that created a passion that still drives me today 35 yrs later.”
