You can expect to explore the waters of Islamorada on one of our pristine bay boats while fishing with the best equipment available in the industry. Our captains offer lots of smiles, gentle instruction as needed, and a no pressure day on the water… we keep fishing fun! In the backcountry we catch a wide variety of species of fish all in the shallow waters of the Florida Bay and Everglades. As many visitors are unsure of what to fish for and what level angler they really are, we structure our family fishing trips around these species using light tackle to provide constant rod bending, drag screaming action for our anglers. This keeps the kids engaged and makes for an exciting day on the water! Not everyone wants to fish? No problem! Come a long for the ride, enjoy the beautiful scenery and have a great time without even touching a rod! We have lots of mangrove islands to see, as well as numerous animal species that include dolphins, sharks, turtles, and various bird life. Our bayboats can accommodate up to 6 people as long as a few are young kids! The biggest question we get is “Won’t we get seasick?” and the answer is unequivocally NO! The shallow waters of the Florida Bay and Everglades are very user friendly and not rocky rolly like the sea sick inducing waters of the deep Atlantic Ocean and as experienced on offshore charters.

A unique and treasured island among the upper Florida Keys, Islamorada’s shore is a stones throw from the Florida Bay which is only the beginning to the Backcountry and the Everglades National Park (ENP). The ENP encompasses approx. 900sq. miles of shallow water with roughly 100 individual islands scattered throughout. The average water depth in the Backcountry is only 3ft deep, with the deepest areas at 6-7 ft deep with any consistency. A Reef trip up to 5 miles out or a “Deep Sea” offshore adventure potentially 20+ miles offshore! Here bigger is better! These trips go out on the open waters of Oceanside Islamorada on a 34’ center console open fisherman offshore boat. Ready to handle whatever weather Mother Nature throws at us, these boats are made for adventure and can take 6 people, however, up to 4 is ideal. For an optimal experience, get out for 6 or 8 hours to capitalize on making the most out of your travel time offshore! You can expect to explore the Atlantic oceanside waters of Islamorada on a fully outfitted boat ready to conquer the day! You can have a fun time on the water whether it’s your first time out or your 50th! Our captains offer lots of smiles, instruction as needed, and have all the skills to make the day fun filled for all! We run two types of offshore trips: Reef Trips for 4 or 6 hours and Deep Sea/Offshore Trips for 6 or 8 Hours! An offshore charter can let you experience the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean at its best and maybe even get a picture of your very own prized catch! These trips are usually morning departures and leave early. They aren’t for the faint of heart. Or stomach. So plan accordingly to be sure your group is up for the adventure! A tradition that was started many years ago by the local Islamorada fishing guides, the “Evening Tarpon Trip“, was created to give anglers the best chances to catch the giant Silver King while drifting live bait around our world famous bridges and passes. The Tarpon is by design a nocturnal feeder and the magic hour of sunset to twilight can be an angler’s best friend when it comes to Tarpon fishing. Nowadays with faster, more reliable boats, better navigational equipment, and heavy fishing pressure during the day, an evening trip can be used to target many different fisheries. This trip will give you the chance to spend the day on the island, get your fishing fix in and still be home in time for a late dinner. We're typically back before dark, unless you're hooked up!! Or, bring a picnic dinner and enjoy it on the water as the sun goes down! We run night tarpon trips Mid March through June and general backcountry evening/sunset trips mid March through September. These trips can target not only Tarpon, but Sharks, Bonefish, Trout, Snappers, etc. giving the whole family a chance to fish while the majority of the crowds are off the water and the air temperature is refreshing. Throw in a couple of adult beverages and a beautiful sunset to boot and that is what vacation in the Florida Keys is all about. Our night fishing trips are typically four hours long and are readily available starting right after the spring “time change.”

There is no better place in the world to scratch that fly fishing itch than beautiful Islamorada Florida. Our fly fishing trips give anglers an opportunity to fish for a variety of game fish in crystal clear water. Fly fishing is an ever-growing sport worldwide and has become extremely popular in the saltwater arena over the last 10 years. There are many differences that distinguish saltwater fly fishing from freshwater fly fishing. There is no drifting, no strike indicators, no mending, and most important, no easy fish to catch for just showing up. Anglers must be able to use tackle between 8 and 12 weight, cast great distances(30 to 80 feet), be very quick and accurate inside of 50 feet, able to cast in the wind (and yes, when you are here the wind will be here too) and do all this while standing on a small platform the size of a bed pillow. Sound impossible? Not at all, just business as usual in the Florida Keys on one of our “traditional flats skiff” fly charters. Regardless of whether you’re fishing for giant tarpon at sunrise or stalking bonefish in less than a foot of water, anything can happen during a fly-fishing expedition in Islamorada. You can also fish two people at a time and bring as many as four on the boat.
