About
River floats begin on northern zone musky opener (Saturday closest to Memorial Day) and end at ice up. Offered all season Friday-Sunday
I have been a river rat since adolescence which is why I absolutely love guiding for musky on multiple freestone river systems where I live.
Floats can last anywhere from 6-10ish hours depending on what stretch we do and how hard we fish it or how fast I row. Typically I like to start the floats early morning and finish around mid afternoon but we also have the option of starting around noon and finishing in the evening hours to around dark.
Once you book a river float with me, I will decide what stretch we float depending on factors such as weather conditions for that day and water levels. Depending on how much rain we get throughout the year, sometimes the rivers can become flooded and unfishable. On the flip side, when water levels are super low due to drought conditions the fishing can become stellar. So I’ll inform you what I think the best option will be for us when that time comes.
We may need to do some vehicle shuttling so that my truck and raft trailer end up at the take out before we begin the float but we can discuss all that before the trip starts.
Once we are on the water, prepare to experience some of the most gorgeous scenery that northern Wisconsin has to offer while at the same time chasing a true river monster!!!

I am from a small town in northern Wisconsin called Phillips which is located in Price County. I have lived here since adolescence to the present day. I am currently a full time Forester and offer my guided fishing trips three days per week (Friday-Sunday) on the side.
I have fished the waters in my area all of my life for a variety of fish species but only started targeting musky specifically within the last couple of years. I quickly developed a passion for it and decided to pursue a career in guiding for them on the lakes and rivers around my home. Someday I would like to make this a full time gig so all the support I get helps a ton.
