River floats for smallmouth bass will begin on the first Saturday in May which is also Wisconsin’s opening day of fishing season.
These are the most action packed trips we offer and are definitely some of my favorite. Pound for pound I think smallies are the hardest fighting fish we have here in Wisco and are especially a thrill to catch in heavy current while floating down our beautiful rivers.
We catch them on everything from jerk baits, topwaters, jigs, flies, live bait, and many more presentations. There are some days where it seems like they will eat literally anything thrown at them.

I am from a small town in northern Wisconsin called Phillips which is located in Price County. I have lived here since adolescence to the present day. I am currently a full time Forester and offer my guided fishing trips three days per week (Friday-Sunday) on the side.
I have fished the waters in my area all of my life for a variety of fish species but only started targeting musky specifically within the last couple of years. I quickly developed a passion for it and decided to pursue a career in guiding for them on the lakes and rivers around my home. Someday I would like to make this a full time gig so all the support I get helps a ton.
