Full days allow us to fish farther, hit more spots and increases the chance of a successful day. I like to leave around sunrise and be back to the dock around 4:00pm on a full day. Let me know what your ideal day looks like. All my trips are custom tailored to make your experience one-of-a-kind.
Fishing the Everglades is filled with variety. In one spot you could be trolling, another spot drifting a shallow flat and still another, poling a mangrove shoreline. It all depends on what the fish are doing that day. The sought after species are Snook, Tarpon, Trout, and Redfish. There's plenty other species in the park but those 4 are the famous ones. If you catch all 4 species in a day that's known as a Grand Slam and it's a serious accomplishment. Rods, licenses, and tackle are provided. All you have to do is make it to Flamingo (45 min drive from Homestead, 90 mins from Key Largo).
Captain Paul is a catch-and-release guide. He believes in conservation and responsible stewardship of the park's resources. He's a member of Captains For Clean Water, & Bonefish Tarpon Trust. He encourages everyone to get involved in the fight to save our wild places and protect the places he fishes.
The captain works hard to make sure you have a good time and if you enjoy the trip, a 20% tip is customary. All you'll need for your trip are drinks, snacks, polarized glasses, light longsleeve clothing and sunscreen.
Exact meeting location will be discussed after booking.

My name is Paul Manoogian I was born in 1993 in Miami Florida the year after Hurricane Andrew. My Grandfather started fishing Biscayne Bay, Flamingo, and Marco Island for Snook back in the 50's and there are logs in his journals of me catching fish on the boat in 1997 when I was 4 years old. In 2006 my dad passed away and left me with an abundance of knowledge and a deep passion for the outdoors. In 2014 my grandpa also passed away and that's when I bought his skiff to keep in the family instead of letting it get sold. I started fishing Flamingo and Biscayne Bay as often as I could. After lots of trips a mentor from my church who's father was involved in the Miami Met Tournaments and grew up fishing in the keys mentioned that I was very good and that I should pursue getting my Captains License. I worked hard for 4 years averaging 150 days a year from 2014-2018. In 2018 I got my Captains license and started Legacy Charters Fishing. I used the word "legacy" because of the long lasting impact my dad and grandpa had on me and the tools and knowledge they passed onto me before they left. I've been guiding professionally since 2018 and hope to win some big tournaments some day (currently fishing The Herman Lucerne Tarpon Cup and tied for 4th last time I fished it.) One of the things my grandpa excelled at was trolling for snook; I've never seen someone as dialed into the snook as he was. I grew up fishing with him and have a lot of background with that style of fishing. I also picked up fly-fishing in 2013 and right now I'm focusing on learning and dialing in the No Motor Zones in Everglades National Park accessed only by canoe. These are some of the things I do that might be different than some other guides in the area.
