About

My name is Paul Manoogian I was born in 1993 in Miami Florida the year after Hurricane Andrew. My Grandfather started fishing Biscayne Bay, Flamingo, and Marco Island for Snook back in the 50's and there are logs in his journals of me catching fish on the boat in 1997 when I was 4 years old. In 2006 my dad passed away and left me with an abundance of knowledge and a deep passion for the outdoors. In 2014 my grandpa also passed away and that's when I bought his skiff to keep in the family instead of letting it get sold. I started fishing Flamingo and Biscayne Bay as often as I could. After lots of trips a mentor from my church who's father was involved in the Miami Met Tournaments and grew up fishing in the keys mentioned that I was very good and that I should pursue getting my Captains License. I worked hard for 4 years averaging 150 days a year from 2014-2018. In 2018 I got my Captains license and started Legacy Charters Fishing. I used the word "legacy" because of the long lasting impact my dad and grandpa had on me and the tools and knowledge they passed onto me before they left. I've been guiding professionally since 2018 and hope to win some big tournaments some day (currently fishing The Herman Lucerne Tarpon Cup and tied for 4th last time I fished it.) One of the things my grandpa excelled at was trolling for snook; I've never seen someone as dialed into the snook as he was. I grew up fishing with him and have a lot of background with that style of fishing. I also picked up fly-fishing in 2013 and right now I'm focusing on learning and dialing in the No Motor Zones in Everglades National Park accessed only by canoe. These are some of the things I do that might be different than some other guides in the area.

We had an amazing time on our Everglades tour with Paul! He was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience both fun and educational. We saw manatees, dolphins, crocodiles, crabs, tons of birds, mullet, and even tarpon! Paul knew so much about the wildlife and ecosystem—it really added to the experience. We can’t wait to go out again. Highly recommend!
