About

I was born and raised in the country, just outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. At a very young age I developed a passion for the outdoors, particularly in the arts of fly fishing. In high school I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; and accomplished this, in part, by creating an annual fly fishing camp for folks with various physical and mental disabilities. The camp is still being run over 17 years later. I’ve always been very driven, with a knack for problem solving. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Material Science and Engineering. An engineering job moved me South Carolina, where I had my first experience with tailing redfish. Shortly thereafter, I bought myself my first flats boat and left my engineering career to pursue my passion for fly fishing. I’ve worked as a professional guide and charter captain for past five years, running up to 220 charters a year. Over the past decade, I have worked hard, putting in countless hours to unlock some of the secrets the low country’s fisheries have to offer. I absolutely love what I do; and try to wake up each day with a relentless pursuit get better and learn more.

What a great trip! Caleb knows those waters in and out. He can hunt some red fish. He loves to teach and gave me some really good tips to make me a better fly fisher. I will definitely be back on his boat!

The best fishing guide in Charleston! A lot goes into being a guide, but nothing can replace hours on the water. Caleb knows the water better than anyone I have spoken with and will teach you a lot while you share his skiff. Catching fish is fun, but you want to spend time with a guide that works hard, is personable, teaches you skills, and shows you the beauty of the marsh. I've shared boats with guides that waste time and just take you fishing. On the other hand, everyone that has fished with him mentions how much they enjoyed their time due to Caleb's work ethic and how much he cares about the people in his boat. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to book him again or send more friends/clients his way. Whether you are booking a trip, or booking for someone else, have confidence that Caleb will give you a reason to come back!

We had a great morning out with Caleb! It was the first time my cousin was throwing a fly rod off the bow of a skiff and Caleb was very knowledgeable and patient. He gave great instructions and I definitely would recommend him to anybody looking to have a fun day on the water.
