Guided by Tails of the Tides

Charleston, South Carolina6-9 years of experience

I was born and raised in the country, just outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. At a very young age I developed a passion for the outdoors, particularly in the arts of fly fishing. In high school I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; and accomplished this, in part, by creating an annual fly fishing camp for folks with various physical and mental disabilities. The camp is still being run over 17 years later. I’ve always been very driven, with a knack for problem solving. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Material Science and Engineering. An engineering job moved me South Carolina, where I had my first experience with tailing redfish. Shortly thereafter, I bought myself my first flats boat and left my engineering career to pursue my passion for fly fishing. I’ve worked as a professional guide and charter captain for past five years, running up to 220 charters a year. Over the past decade, I have worked hard, putting in countless hours to unlock some of the secrets the low country’s fisheries have to offer. I absolutely love what I do; and try to wake up each day with a relentless pursuit get better and learn more.
