The Long Island Sound offers a unique experience to target diverse species with a fly rod, all within hours of New York City. Striped Bass, False Albacore, Bonito, Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish can all be caught at various points throughout the season. Right off the coast of Fairfield County lies secluded island chains, rock reefs, rips, mud flats, sand flats, and deep drop offs that makes every day of fishing different. From throwing big flies deep into rips, or stalking fish by sight in inches of water, a unique experience awaits. Aside from shots at some of the North East's most premiere gamefish, the sound is filled with historic light houses, many species of birds and wildlife, and unique natural landscapes. In keeping with the conservation efforts connected to these species, all trips are catch and release only.
Patrick's vessel is the Maritime Skiff 1690, the quintessential Northeast skiff. Drafting less than a foot, it's able to get into skinny water while providing enough stability and freeboard to keep passengers dry and safe. Patrick holds his USCG 25 Ton Master Captain's license and is fully insured.

Captain Patrick Huban has always found his way to the water. From his early days surfing and lifeguarding on the beaches of Cape Cod to studying fish behavior in the smallest streams and largest tidal flats, the water has always been home.
Patrick’s outdoor pursuits ultimately led him to fly fishing where he quickly discovered a passion for learning how environmental factors impact fish behaviors. His approach to fly fishing is to appreciate the time spent on the water and to fish with a focus on sustainability and respect for both the fish and for their habitat.
As a guide, Patrick enjoys sharing his experience with others, from seasoned flyfishers to total newcomers. His method of guiding is to demystify fly fishing and distill it to its simplest elements: understanding fish and their environment and using this centuries old technique to interact with nature in it’s purest form.
