Lowcountry Premier Fly Fishing

Our trips in Charleston are always planned out with the tides. We have a big tidal swing each day and it will usually dictate how we will fish for redfish and other species. Whether that be up in the spartina grass, or down around the oyster beds and mud flats. Expect to meet Peter at a local boat ramp or pickup location around Charleston and run anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to your fishing grounds. Capt Peter obviously prefers guiding experienced fly fishing anglers, but is also very welcoming to beginners, freshwater anglers, and everyone in between. Beginners and freshwater anglers can expect full instruction on casting in the wind, presenting your fly, stripping techniques, and strip set guidance. You will learn a great deal about the water, tides, and fish behavior during your time with Peter. If any anglers prefer to sight fish with a spinning rod and artificial baits just let Peter know beforehand and he will have that gear for you as well. Details on the location and meeting times will be provided upon trip confirmation as well as the day before the trip. Half day: A half day of fly fishing in the lowcountry is a 4 hour trip. Half days are great for the hot summer months as well as the colder mid winter trips. Water and gear will be provided. 3/4 day: A 3/4 day trip runs 6 hours. This gives the anglers 2 more hours on the water and basically a full tide cycle. So you will either experience a full incoming or outgoing tide. You will get to see firsthand how much the tide comes up and down and how the fish react, feed, and live in these environments. Water and gear will be provided. Full day: A full day trip runs 8 hours or more. This trip is for anyone who wants to spend a full day on the water. Great for August through December when the fall bite is on fire. Water and gear will be provided. Your trip will typically start at 7am but this is subject to change depending on weather and tides.

Expect to tour the Charleston peninsula, ravanel bridge, castle Pinckney, fort Sumter and fort moultrie, and other important landmarks. Include a picnic package or professional photography for an all encompassing tour that you will cherish for many years. Hop off the boat at secluded beaches to look for sharks teeth and shells or to enjoy your picnic from the sand. Capt peter will provide everything to enjoy your time and be comfortable. Last but not least, you will see lots of wildlife while cruising around. Dolphins, birds, fish, and other marsh critters can be found to admire and photograph.

Meet Capt. Peter at the park to go over the fundamentals of fly casting. Peter will supply rods and targets for an interactive lesson in casting the fly rod, best practices, and graduating to different techniques.
