Kids and Family Trips are Great for vacationers looking for an exciting afternoon on the water. Not everyone is a hard core angler and looking to catch trophy fish. We understand that family time is valuable and memories are priceless. Sometimes a stressless day on the water with family is just what you need and we are right here to help. Our kids trips are catered around children and are designed to keep them busy catching fish and smiling while you keep busy relaxing and taking pictures. Whiting, Small Sharks, Rays, croaker, and more keep the excitement level high and we promise to make this trip one you will remember as a great family outing. We enjoy sharing our knowledge of the ecosystem, fish, and fishing and are right there to help teach those who would like to learn everything from casting to tying knots. We are located in St. Simons Island and will pick you up for your charter from either St Simons Island or Jekyll Island. Most trips are mid morning or early afternoon so you wont have to get up at sunrise.

Discuss best options the evening before your trip with your guide. Either inshore or Nearshore making the decision based on whether and where the best action is. These trip are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people are looking to bend the rod and not target any specific species.

Inshore fishing trips in Coastal Georgia are world class year around. If you enjoy catching trout, redfish, flounder, and more then this is the place you want to be. Guided inshore sight fishing low water Redfish is spectacular from Oct.- March where water clarity is best. Redfish however are a year around target. Guided Flood tide tailing Redfish trips are run from April-Oct. The Team provides only top-of-the-line gear. All gear, lures, ice, water, licenses, and bait are provided at no additional cost and are meticulously prepared for your trip. Feel free to bring along your own gear if you like. Near Shore Fishing trips and charters include waters from the surf line out to approximately 20 miles off of Saint Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Sea Island, and Cumberland Island Georgia. These waters are rich in nutrients and bait fish and are home to a host of different species throughout the various seasons here in Coastal Georgia. From sight casting tripletail in the spring and summer months, to battling giant tarpon and sharks or king mackerel and cobia on the artificial reefs. Fall and winter is when it is time to bottom fish the Nearshore artificial wrecks and reefs! No matter the time of year there are always fish to be caught. READ FULL DESCRIPTION. Tarpon start to show up in early June because of warm water temperatures and food. This is all part of their seasonal migration up the east coast. Large fish in the 60 to 180 pound range are common. Tarpon over 200 pounds are caught and released every year. These fish can be targeted using tackle in several situations from fish feeding on schools of bait, to laid up fish in small areas, as well as early morning rolling and tailing fish. If you want to target schools of redfish, jacks, trout, or sight cast to triple tail, tarpon, or sharks Coastal Georgia and its barrier islands are where it’s at. TARPON FISHING IS NOT TARPON CATCHING. These are amazing acrobatic fish that can be hard to keep on the hook for skilled and unskilled anglers. ACCURATE CASTING is required unless bait fishing.. IF OUR CAPTAINS WORK HARD TO PUT YOU ON FISH RESPECT THAT. IN TODAYS AGE PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK FISH SHOULD JUST JUMP IN THE BOAT AND THEY DONT. Tarpon fishing is fishing and it’s generally on the more technical side. If you judge a trip by how many fish you put in the boat this type of trip IS NOT for you. All skill levels are welcome. If needed, Our knowledgeable guides will patiently instruct beginning anglers.

Ocean Shark fishing for big sharks is a favorite of many anglers who want to hear screaming drags and the pull of big fish. Most fishing is done insight of the beach behind shrimp boats where you can expect to battle black tip sharks, and the prized spinner shark which are known for their speed and acrobatics. These trips are offered May-September.

Bull Red Drum fishing trips and charters include waters from the surf line out to approximately 3 miles off of Saint Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Sea Island, and Cumberland Island Georgia. These waters are rich in nutrients and bait fish and are home to a host of different species throughout the various seasons here in Coastal Georgia but in October the big bull redfish show up on the beaches after spawning. These fish range from 15-40 pounds and are a blast to catch. Fly Fishing Coastal Georgia’s vast estuaries around St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Sea Island, and Cumberland Island can be great year-round. Schools of redfish offer some of the best fly fishing opportunities found on the east coast. Winter months bring cooler temperatures and larger schools to shallow water flats. You can expect to be able to sight fish redfish in clear water with schools ranging from just a few fish to larger schools upwards for 100 fish. Winter is one of the best times to fish for red drum in Coastal Georgia. Coastal Georgia can be a fly fishing enthusiast’s dream with quiet flats that receive minimal pressure.

Learning the habits of these amazing fish has taken decades of trial and error. Capt. Scott and his clients were the first to successfully and continuously catch tarpon on fly in Coastal Georgia. Now almost 10 years later he and the team at Southeastern Angling continue to put their clients on tarpon using fly tackle. If you want to target schools of redfish, jacks, trout, or sight cast to triple tail, tarpon, or sharks Coastal Georgia and its barrier islands are where it’s at. All skill levels are welcome. If needed, Our knowledgeable guides will patiently instruct beginning anglers and fly fisherman in search of taking their first fish on fly. Gloomis fly rods paired with Seigler fly reels are provided. Custom flies for your targeted species are also available. If you should decide to bring your own equipment, a 7-9 weight rod is perfect for any inshore fishing situation you will encounter. A 10-12 weight rod is ideal for fishing for tarpon, bull redfish, sharks, and other large targets.
