Starting in late February the American and Hickory Shad begin to make their way from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean into the rivers and creeks of Eastern North Carolina for their annual spawn. We target these fish on the Tar River and Roanoke River using fly rods and ultra-light spinning rods. Shad fishing is revered for its simplicity and high volume catches- we see 100-fish days every season. This is also a great fishery for anyone looking to swing a two-hand Spey or switch fly rod! February 20 - April 5 North Carolina INLAND fishing license required. This is a 6+ hour trip being at 8 am and ending at 2 pm.

The Roanoke River in Weldon, North Carolina is considered the Rockfish Capital of the World. Hundreds of thousands of Striped Bass (called Rockfish here in Eastern North Carolina) return to the fall line of the Roanoke River to spawn in late April and early May. This is some of the best Striped Bass fishing you can find anywhere in the world. We target these fish with ONLY fly and light tackle- we do not fish bait at any time during our trips. These fish range from 18"-26" on average with a chance at a 30"+ fish. Topwater bites can be found many evenings and mornings and provide some truly spectacular fishing. We fish the river out of 16'-20' boats set up specifically for river fishing. Group trips available. April 10st - May 10th

Float some of Eastern North Carolina's most productive and scenic rivers targeting Largemouth Bass and Striped Bass. This trip is an excellent option for those anglers looking for a more in-depth, technical fishing experience. We will target Striped Bass and trophy sized largemouth bass using a variety of presentation methods with both fly & light tackle. Large streamers and top water flies are our go-to and provide some of the best visual eats we see all year. We have hundreds of miles of floatable water in our region and our guides aim to put you on the most productive section for each given day.
